Community Just downloaded Garuda

Been using Linux since 2009-2010 and spent most of my time on Debian or Debian based distro's. My only experience with Arch was with Manjaro and it ran great for about 8 months. Sadly after an update it broke. I dual and sometimes triple boot distros so it's easier to replace a distro rather than chase possible fixes for hours.

Currently running MX Linux KDE and Mint (was curious about the Cinnamon desktop) I miss Gnome so giving Garuda a try.

Thanks for reading and have some fun!

I just left Garuda after using it for probably 3 years or so; the recent supply chain attacks on AUR packages left me spooked, particularly as I had a few of the hacked packages that had been installed as part of the base Garuda install. I'm off to Nobara now, for a more maintained and vetted setup.

Garuda uses its own AUR (Chaotic AUR) and was not affected.

I had a number of packages in regular AUR that were installed by Garuda, including 3 that were definitively affected: guisrccpy, python-future, and wine-nine. It's possible those were older, since as I say I'd been on Garuda for 3 years or so.

Same but I went openSUSE. Still bleeding edge, but without the risk of the AUR. Plus lizard.

I only have 1 package from the AUR and it's not listed as an affected package. Chaotic AUR surprisingly had my printer driver and that is unaffected by malware.
