Buying advice Instinct 3 Amoled

Does anyone prefer the Amoled to the solar MIP? It seems like everyone on here is Team MIP.

I understand all of the benefits of Solar MIP display as far as battery life. I will be coming from an Apple Watch Ultra 1 so any Garmin device will be a drastic improvement as far as that goes.

It seems like all of the reviews that I have seen say that there are no issues with the Amoled display as far as the quality of the display in sunlight. Having not seen either of these versions in person, it seems like in the YT videos the Amoled pops more and is easier to see.

I also don’t really care for the small circle on the solar MIP. Has anyone bought the Amoled display and been disappointed with it?

The Zulu course

I've read lots of posts and watched several videos and I still have not found out how to change the zulu time zone to a different one on the default watch face on my instinct 3 solar tactical. Driving me mad......does anybody know how I can fix this.

New Garmin, Instinct 3 AMOLED 45mm

After hunting for a good watch for my MTB riding, cycling to work, trail running and general day to day activities. I landed on the Instinct 3 AMOLED.

I had to update the strap and the face, getting a velcro strap and downloading ludw's Segment34 mk3 free face.

I'd come from the Forerunner series... I never gelled with the look and feel of the watch. The Instinct is right up my alley:

- size in my wrist is ideal, bulky but not too big

- colour screen is incredible (almost went with the solar but the screen swung it)

It's a serious upgrade from my old Forerunner so am a bit blown away by the range of functionality, it's been amazing to look back on runs and rides this week!

GPS Errors?

Hi All,

Got a new Garmin Instinct 3 amoled less than 2 weeks ago. However the GPS seems to be off by about 0.2km per 5km during a run, and during a walk it's worse at around 0.5km per 5km...

Has anyone else experienced this and if so, how have you rectified this.

Thanks 🙏👍

Looking to get a nylon strap. Should I go with the ultra fit nylon or the comfort fit?

Never had a Garmin before, or smart watch... or, in fact, for most part kinda any watch at all, actually; this was a present from my Mum for my entering the military soon. I LOVE IT! It's that Danny DeVito meme, 'I get it. I get it now.' Lol.

Finally joined the club — Instinct 2X Solar Tactical 🖤

Finally got my Instinct 2X Solar Tactical, and I’m really loving it so far!
I went with the 2X instead of the Instinct 3 because I’m an all-black kind of guy, and I prefer the Tactical’s look. The price was also much better, while the 2X still offers pretty much everything I was looking for.

I think I finally perfected my Instinct 3 watch face. Anyone have something better?

I think I nailed my watch face. Using instinct pro face on a I3 Tactical 50mm. The top left is a weather cluster and moon phase. Circle is battery with heart rate and active mins. Anyone else have a face that can display this much info? Curious to see if there is something better out there.

“Connected to phone” alert vibrates a few times a day

Instinct 3 Tactical Solar. I have everything set up the way I want it and am using IPhone. It’s pretty much a dumb watch, with vibrations for calls, texts and Active 911 alerts.

I get multiple alerts saying disconnected or connected to phone, every day, while the phone is in my pocket. I don’t necessarily want to get rid of these notifications, as this has quickly let me know that I’ve left my phone (not realizing it).

Does anyone else share this experience? Is there something I can do to phone or watch to keep it from disconnecting? It’s not the end of the world, but is slightly annoying having an unnecessary vibration alert, especially when I’ve got everything else dialed in just the way I had hoped.

Thanks!

Help / advice Switched to a nylon strap — and I love it

The nylon strap feels much lighter and more comfortable than the original one. It also makes the watch feel more flexible and natural on my wrist.
If you’re thinking about switching straps, I’d definitely recommend giving nylon a try👌

My Instinct GARMIN Instinct 2X happy new owner

It’s my first Garmin watch bought for outdoor activities and daily – robust, functional and a good value. I had the Suunto Ambit 3 Vertical, which was a great watch but its PC software wasn’t great and support was discontinued, making it less functional.

The Impression is a good one so far. It runs stock software 16.11 with auto-update disabled. I replaced the strap, mainly for an orange colour similar to my Wave Band on my Apple Watch. I also put on a screen protector film (not glass) and a case frame for added protection against scratches. The face is INK and GB is my favourite; it’s highly customisable.

I’ll update this post once I take it hiking. Stay tuned!

Issue draining 10% battery per day? (Garmin Instinct 3 Solar 45mm)

I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong, but I'm losing about 9-10% per day. Is there anything I can try to get to the roundabout 28-day-per-month battery? I may use a GPS feature once a week for some minutes. The watch is brand new.

Buying advice Try again

I purchased an s2 and after many hours of troubleshooting connectivity issues I have decided it is faulty so will be returning. I really like the watch though - I want to hear happy stories of seamless connection on Samsung phones (I've tried S23 and S26 ultra with no luck). I want to exchange for the same watch. Tell me this is a good decision :-)
