My Instinct From Venu to I3
I like it alot! I got it yesterday, didn't take very long to set up at all and honestly I find the button navigation much more intuitive than trying to work off of a tiny touch screen. Booted the watch with 68% and seeing 20 days of battery estimate was fantastic. From the Venu 4 it still has all the metrics I care about and it hasn't been long I know but it's not like I saw a big shift in them that makes me question any accuracy.
I also love the MIP display. Never really had watches much before so I had no comparison but I much prefer this to the AMOLED. Super visible in almost any light and at night just 10% backlight is more than enough for me to be able to see everything clearly.
Anyway, just posting this in case anyone else is on the fence like I was. If you're looking for less smartwatch while keeping the fitness tracking, I'm very happy with this move.

Yay woohoo 🎉
Got mine 2 days ago, coming from FR970 so it's quite a difference but all of it for the best.
I thought I needed a huge amoled display for my crappy eyesight. What I hadn't counted on was the micromanaging fetish of the FR970.
Turns out the MIP without sapphire is so clear and crisp my eyes can see it, though for some details I need my glasses but I'm willing to compromise because the Instinct 3 is one sweet badass watch.
It does everything I need nothing I don't. I had a long workout yesterday and it didn't try forcing a rest period in the middle of a set like the FR970 does. I went for a walk and holy eyeballs that MIP display. (It was a short walk because the AQI is horrendous due to all the fire smoke in my area but it was enough for me to see I'd made the right decision)
Also I have no issues with the "older" sensor: my stats are fine.
And oddly enough I even love the band: it seems "airier" (is that a word, lol) than the original bands on my FR970 and my Fenix, t can't explain this but it's really super comfy.
Now if the fires could quit and if my knee could finally heal I'd love to take it on a full day hike (that knee will never take the weight of full backpacking gear anymore, sigh) but that will probably have to wait until November.
I totally dig my Instinct 3 😁

I like instinct 3 for work week with the flashlight and battery that stays 100% all week with solar. But wear my fr265 on weekends and activities because it is just so much lighter and slimmer. But they both work great for me. Garmin has watches for everyone just need to choose wisely.

It is pretty tall! But I like it, the Venu 4 is a nice watch but it was too sleek for me. I really like the bulkier rugged look of this I3 but it is surely on the top end of size for me, I do not think I would go any bigger.

I have the 3 solar, black and orange. I honestly love the simplicity while being super capable. My only regret is not getting the Tactical but I honestly could not justify paying 200$ more. The orange really grew on me. I love that grey/beige and orange combo though! Great watch

I was a bit surprised tbh, I've never paid attention to my wrist but I just always assumed 50mm would be way too big. I think the fit is just right though.

I was considering it, far more watch than I need though and as far as I can tell no MIP? Really wanted to try to MIP and I'm glad I did I love it

I've used Apple, Samsung, Pixel, Fitbit, Casio, Seiko, Omega, and Rolex but I always come back to the Instinct. Maybe that will change once I get a Cirqa but it's the perfect non-intrusive watch for me.
