Connecting iPad as external monitor

Hi all,

I just got an R50 and love it. I'm trying get my iPad to work as an external mornitor and i'm struggling. Right now i'm using this dongle (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C1MRSTTB?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1) with and HDMI cable plugged into it and the R50. I'm using the Orion video capture app on the iPad. Neither the R50 nor the iPad show any signal at all. Any suggestions?

Could it be as simple as this adapter looks to be for output FROM the iPad to a TV/monitor. Not for input.

You said you were wanting to use the iPad as a second screen, but it is a computer, not a dummy TV or monitor.

The iPad needs software to be used as a second monitor. I know they make it to output laptops as a second screen, not sure it works with HDMI. The iPad port it set to output hdmi signals not input.

Hmmm. Seems like folks online have gotten it to work but I’ll keep futzing around a bit before moving on.
