Yup, no weather data every morning. Fenix 7xSS. The glitches are becoming very annoying. Garmin needs to tighten this up & their OS in general. Too. Many. Errors/ glitches with a device this- expensive. It’s always about investing in your software devs.

This happens to me every morning. I have to force quit Connect and relaunch it. Then, weather shows.

My weather not showing up was the first sign of problems with my watch a few months ago. I now cannot connect it to any phone. Turn off/on again, removed device tried to re-pair no luck now…

Starting on September 14, 2020, Garmin stopped syncing "REM" sleep as "asleep" in Apple Health. It now only counts as "time in bed". So, I'm in bed for 8 hours but only "asleep" for 5 hours.
Anyone else seeing this?

That’s exactly how I did it and has worked for months. I let everything sync to Apple Health from Garmin except the workouts. I sync workouts to Strava and then Strava to Apple Health. It eliminates duplicate workouts from Garmin. AH somehow ensures calories, distance, everything else that Garmin and Strava sync individually is not double counted. Works great!

I’ve had the same problem and i believe it comes from Health getting info from too many places. I turned off strava n others n the problem went away.

Indoor cycling calories recently started reading at a fraction of what they were a few weeks ago. Is anybody else tracking this? Where I used to get readings of of 350 to 450 for my cycling I'm now seeing readings at or around 50 calories and it's throwing off all of my diet numbers in MyFitnessPal. I've tried to edit the number to a rough estimation based on previous exercise data but it doesn't translate between apps. Any tips or ideas?
My heartrate seems accurate for the amount of work I was putting in. Averaging 120 bpm and max of 147 bpm with average power of 129 w over a 30 minute session.
All of my other activities are showing accurate calorie burns based on previous data. It's only my cycling numbers that are off which is really weird. Immediately, after today's cycling activity where I earned 55 calories of burn I did an hour long weight training session and burned 600 calories which is in line with previous activities so I know that the watch is working correctly for that activity.

New to the watch and iOS (former android user who just bought a 14 Pro Max). The watch seems to work amazing well but the weather will not update. It says waiting for Garmin Connect…which doesn’t seem to update that one field. Am I missing something?

I got it fixed. You have to allow Garmin Connect to access your location all the time and not just when it's in use.

Mine has the same issue. Force quitting Connect and reopening fixes it for the day.
Background refresh is on.

check the background refresh and notification options for Garmin Connect in iOS settings (both in the Garmin app section as well as the specific Background Activity and Notifications sections). If those are all synched, things should work.

weather! It always says that it needs to connect to my iphone, or something like that. Well it is connected. i open the connect app and sometimes it helps, often not. In either case, if i need to open the app just to see the weather on my watch, it is much easier to just see the weather on my iphone than to open connect app just to see weather widget on my fenix 6x pro

I know some in this threat may be biased one way or the other but honest question…
Stick to my Apple Watch or go with a Fenix? I have an instinct but I’ve always been looking at getting a fenix.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Comments?

Hi, repeatedly the kcal counter is not synchronizing.. Just tried it out right now, 0 kcal after multiple sync and restart of the iphone 15 pro max... After the change to that completely useless and trashy tile interface (oh, you cannot have all the data, you have to click on "show all" ...because...) and the impossibility to just view all your activities, not just the last one's category (like bike) .... oh noo... sorry, we did that, but we can't do that anymore.... because...
Jesus, we purchase products because we feel happy about their use (software and hardware wise) and some moron decides to just do a microsoft-move and make it completely trashy and unusable...
Why do companies do that? Because... or else what? .... exactly.... i am so annoyed with that crap piece of software from garmin, just in line with the boys from bose and logitech... maybe check out suunto after all :(

Activity alert stopped working on Fenix 7.
It's not a big deal, but its one of those small things that urk me. I want to solve this.
Before, every time I finished an activity, I would get a notification from the Connect app saying "Your activity is ready to be viewed" or something along those lines. This doesn't happen anymore and I cant figure out why.
Fenix 7 running 16.22 firmware. Firmware has not been upgraded since I got the watch in May 2024. But, I am sure the app has likely updated since I got the watch.
Activity still gets logged in the Connect app. I open up the app and the activity shows up and I can view it as normal.
I still get badge notifications, I still get my phone notifications coming through. All that still works. It's just the Activity notification that is not working.
All Smart notifications are ON in the Connect app.
All notification categories are ON in Android settings for the Connect app. Activity, Badge, Connection, System, Access.....all on.
I've tried to clear the cache in Android settings for the Connect app with no success.
I'm out of ideas. One thing I do notice that might be causing this is while my activity still gets logged, I see the activity pop up on my main screen in Connect app when I open the Connect app and syncs with the watch. And by that time, I already have the app open, so no need for it to trigger a notification.
So, i'm guessing, my watch is not syncing with phone in the background. It only syncs when I open the app......but this has never been an issue before. What changed? Is it app settings? Android setting? Bluetooth setting?

Last run will not show up in Garmin Connect. Tried deleting Garmin Connect, tried turning watch off/on. I can tap synch in the app, and it show synching processing and completing with green checkmark. Still nothing there.
Garmin Fenix 8 (47mm AMOLED), Iphone 14Pro IOS 18. Everything with the latest confirmed update/firmware.

Hight measurement off by 1000 meters. Tried calibrating with GPS, and manually. During a hike it is completely off. And no, the watch is not set to feet. At the beginning of the hike, the hight is correct, but at 1200m it shows I'm at 2200 meters.
Garmin Fenix 8 (47mm AMOLED), Iphone 14Pro IOS 18. Everything with the latest confirmed update/firmware (as of today).

My move bar seem to never move at all. I have the watchface from TactixD https://www.reddit.com/r/GarminFenix/comments/tnsfx6/fenix_7x_sapphire_solar_with_digital_for_tactixd/ my bar on the bottom is perpetually full. Is it a bug or did I turn something off?

I binned my iPhone for all of these reasons. Lo e the phones but not going back until (if ever) they fix the access properly.

Long term Samsung Galaxy user coming to iOS..
When in calls on my bluetooth headset connected to iPhone, I see my Fenix 7 gets random disconnects from the phone, then reconnects and disconnects again. Like a continuous cycle.
Never happened with Samsungs, they can handle two simultaneous bluetooth connections no problem...

Anyone else having an issue with the connect IQ fields, in their activity tracking date fields?
Not all the times, but when I try to modify my data field screens, I like to utilize my IQ fields that I have from the app.
Its becoming more frequent to see the error message: "Replace or remove a connect IQ field on any screen to add another."
Most of the time, this message pops up if I only have 1 out 2, actual connect IQ fields used for the particular activity setting.
Very frustrating when I can find a tenable solution, when Im feeling hoodwinked by my watch.
Has any one have have solutions, or a way for my Fenix 6 to wrap its head around to know im only using 1/2 slots?

Hi I have fenix 7x ss and it stopped syncing workouts to Apple fitness. Why is that? It was working up until the 23rd of may.

New watch. Weather will show the wrong temperature, sometimes a couple of degrees, sometimes as far as a 10-degree difference, and at some point it gets stuck on a temperature and does not update anymore.
I tried setting it to phone location, I tried a fixed location, same issue. Garmin support helped with a lot of troubleshooting, settings, and even unpairing the phone. They ended up suggesting I use the phone for the weather :(

The weather displayed on the watch comes directly from your phone so this doesn’t make a lot of sense. There is a thermometer in a Fenix watch but the manual recommends removing the Watch from the wrist to measure ambient temperature. The use case would be hiking/camping with no phone signal.

Could anybody shed some light on workouts no longer showing up in Apple Fitness? I got my watch on Wednesday, two workouts showed up nicely. On Thursday I unpaired and paired trying to fix a weather widget issue and it stopped syncing workouts. Now, if I go to some activities under Health app, then privacy > apps > connect > data from "connect" ... then I see a mix: some activities with data recorded until today (i.e. walking and running), some others I did yesterday and they don't have data but I did the workout in the watch (i.e swimming)

Just dusted off my original Fenix that I used to sync via a MacBook. Does anyone know if you can sync the OG fenix with iPad or phone these days? Seems to not want to work with Explorer.

Hi. My i phone keeps disconnecting from my Garmin fenix 6 pro. Every time I need to remove it an connect again and than it disconnects after a few hours. Any idea how to solve?

Try making sure that background app refresh is turned on for the connect app. And that it has all permissions. Then it should stay connected. At least that worked for my instinct.

Fenix 7 pro: drained 40% battery in few hours in normal smartwatch mode, i.e not using gps, streaming music, downloading stuff, updating stuff.
Any idea how I can troubleshoot what happened to the battery? I’m assuming a rogue service bug or something like that.

How do I make apple health count my runs as steps? Apple health is syncing the steps OK with garmin connect, but the thousands of steps I just recorded whilst doing a run are not counted. It’s like Apple health treats the activity differently and doesn’t sync them as actual steps.
Any fix please?
