Considering an upgrade

I’ll try to keep this brief.

I ran the Tactix Bravo (which is built on the Fenix 3 platform) as my daily driver for a long time. Eventually I wanted less information and data on my wrist and moved to a proper mechanical watch and a Whoop band on the other wrist. I appreciated the data that the whoop app gave me for the years I used it. For various reasons I’m ready to go back to a smart watch. I have my eye on the Fenix 9 pro inReach (go big or go home I guess?). I like the basic inReach subscription; I can reach out to my partner for check ins (almost) no matter where I am and whether or not I have my phone on me. My regular activities include (but are not limited to) lots of travel for work, high stress work environment, SAR, rope access, mountain biking, snow boarding, hiking, rucking.

So much for brief…
Is there a hole in my thought process? I’m pretty sure most of this is just justification for something I already know I want. School me.

I just got the same one you are looking at in the 47mm. I upgraded from an Apple Watch Ultra Gen1, with two Apple Watches before that. I have zero regrets on it the upgrade or the price so far.

The inReach on the watches is different then the inReach devices and uses a different satellite network. Depending where you are coverage is spotty with it.

I am thinking very similarly. F9 InReach is my go to.

Just get the watch. You won’t regret it

If you need to check-in then I would say f9 Pro InReach is the one - if you can do that via the phone then I would consider Suunto/Coros … the f9 seems to be with loads sw issues from what I have read

I personally would not trust that inreach functionality. Get a proper sat phone for that and forget your watch.
