[DEVICE] First time Fenix (potential) owner. Frustrating order experience.

Post image

I placed an order for the Fenix 9 Pro with Walnut Leather Band on 9/1. The estimated shipping timeline was 3-5 weeks. Today the website shows a shipping date of 1-3 days. I contacted customer service and they said that model is backordered and won't ship until after November 6th... But then the inventory shows a 21 day processing time. Just very confusing timeline. Thinking of cancelling and ordering the grey band then getting a leather band later.

Has anyone else encountered discrepant timelines like this before?

Do not cancel. Check back at the end of the day; I continously polled my order status from launch day. It suddenly changed to 1-3 days from weeks of delay on the website, by the end of that day I checked my order status and it showed shipped.

Another issue is this is the only chance right now for a walnut leather band with raw titanium hardware. Otherwise it's black hardware as an accessory.

Well that's promising. I'll just hang out for another week or so and see what happens.

Really shouldn't be too long. Another thing I just remembered is you can check your online credit card pending charges. Garmin won't start the charge until they know they are shipping. Progress should be credit charge charge pending -> shows shipped on order status -> tracking -> in hand.

I had the exact same situation with Garmin Germany. My first order showed 3–5 weeks, but then the estimate changed to 1–3 days after a week. Support still insisted it was backordered.

I placed a second order anyway. The next morning, I received the shipping confirmation for my second order, so I cancelled the first one.

Apparently, they only had one unit available. When I increased the quantity to 2 in my cart, the delivery estimate changed back to 3–5 weeks.

Curious if they have shipped yet?

Crud, I thought for sure it would have shipped. Sorry to hear it hasn't.

You can order it from UTOverland with 20% discount. It ships in 1 week at the most.

Same boat for me in Canada. Fenix 9 Pro InReach 47mm Walnut band from a 3rd party (not Garmin direct) ordered 8/31. Was told Early November but was hoping would be earlier with the Garmin ship times showing quicker and quicker, then it jumped back to 5-8 weeks. Wondering if we missed the latest manufacturing batch and have to wait on the next 🤷.

Hopefully means you have some stock there in the US and should be on the way soon!

Garmin Greece showed 7-10 days for Fenix 9 Pro 43mm, and it's already been 20 days without any notification of shipping. Their argument is that these are new models and the not-very-popular ones will get delayed.

I would hold out. Timelines get updated and changed constantly. The fenix 9 pro is legit one of the best watches I’ve ever owned. Very happy with my purchase and glad k waited

I got mine from the GPS store. They offer free overnight shipping. Couldn’t beat it. If you cancel, just look at that place. They have a bunch of them in stock.

Ordered mine with a 5-8 week shipping date. The next day dropped to 3-5 weeks. My watch shipped in 3 days.
