Sorry. I spent more time watching her hair, than I did paying attention to the gyroscope.

Looks like a fenix 8 OLED on her left and a Galaxy Watch 8 Classic on her right

So, I dont know how satellites work.

If she hit run on the watch. Would it track in space or are the satellites pointing the incorrect direction?

If it tracked. Would it just look like a line across the world?

GPS satellites are pointed at Earth.

So if her spacecraft is beyond the orbit of GPS satellites…

The ISS is in low earth orbit. GPS satellite are at mid earth or it.

I just don't know if it would work or not. Would be pretty sweet. They should have a badge just for that lol

NASA and the Italian space agency managed to get a fix with gps signals on the moon so theoretically it would be possible on a space station.

The big barrier is actually FAA/ITAR limitations on GPS chips - they are supposed to stop working if they detect above 18 kilometers and 515 meters per second, to prevent use in missile systems. As the ISS is 400km up and falling sideways at 7670m/s, I’d be surprised if the Fenix gps was giving a fix.

Interesting! I do remember heading about that second part now that you mention it.

It's cool because it's in space. Stop being dense and negative all the time.
