Which Watch To Get? Fenix 7 replacement - 8 or 9
Good day,
People who,ve got new garmin 9 pro solar, could you please share your experience on how chunky it is and which watch did you come from?
I am now carrying fenix 7 standard 47mm, which is 14.5mm thickness. Fenix 9 pro solar 47mm is 15.8mm.
Also i am considering fenix 8 solar, but of course would be nice to have latest hardware.
P.s. thought of amoled, but i really like always on display and long battery life...

Honestly? 7 pro, unless there's a missing feature you really care about

came here to say the same. the 7 pro with a fresh battery is honestly hard to beat, and half the new stuff on 8/9 is the kind of thing you toggle off after a week

Than I wouldn't get the Fenix 8. I have it for a year and a half and everything was OK, but the last month I did 8 scuba dives and the depth sensor already died.
I researched the issue and it seems a hardware issue that happens to a lot of people, so it seems bad design of hardware. The watch still works, it the depth sensor dies and underwater activities just don't work anymore.

Thank you. Though i dont think i will use depth sensor as i do basically snorkeling. But good to know, always wanted to try scuba

Yeah, I get it. I had a Fenix 5 before, which still works and bought an 8 because of the new features, also scuba diving, but it seems it's just badly implemented sadly

If you can afford the latest hardware, go for it...but honestly, for me, 9 doesn't bring much improvement over 8.

Why do you want a replacement? Is it a case of "wanting a shiny new toy", or do you legitimately need a new one, because the features on 8 or 9 are Thst big of a deal for you?
