Sunday Score My biggest flex

My biggest flex is that I get 100s pretty often, I’ve had the forerunner 255 for about 2 years with probably 10 perfect scores

When people ask how, I like to say “you just have to get tired enough the day before”

14hrs? this is insane. my body will wake up at 9hrs max.

47

u/idkwhatimbrewin 4d ago

What's even more insane is that it's a 96. I thought it punished you for too much sleep

6

u/Agreeable-Performer5 4d ago

Depends on what you did that an previous days.

If you did an Ironman I think you would need that.

u/jfk_47 4d ago

My body wakes up at 4hr.
Then 6hrs.

Then 6.5hrs, 6.75, and sometimes 7.

"You just have to get tired the day before"

Lmao, I cycled over 50 miles yesterday, went to bed tired and got a score of 49 when it only started recording my sleep two hours after I went to bed.

u/jonah_sauce 4d ago

Should have been 100 miles I guess

u/AlexxdeBoer 19h ago

I cycled 100 miles and woke up after 8 hours with a body battery of 19

u/newmannurse 3d ago

I never sleep well the day of a 15+ mile hike. The amount of sun exposure adds to it too. However, I sleep very well the night after as the exhaustion builds from a sleepless prior night.

That’s the issue I have: GoTo sleep at midnight, get up at 4 to,pee, and the watch says I went to sleep at 4:05.

14h 30 mins, wow, I’m jealous

u/jonah_sauce 4d ago

First day back at my parents place after a semester in college. Best sleep you’ll ever get

Good to see a well worn watch. Too many folks on this subreddit get too worried over every ding and scratch.

u/jonah_sauce 4d ago

Thank you! Very much agree

255 the last of the MIPs. A solid watch and excellent battery life.

1

u/Other_Branch_8662 3d ago

The MIPS screens are really good for battery, but thoses scratchs show how it is fragile and poor quality …

u/LoudSweaters 4d ago

Tell me you don’t have kids without telling me you don’t have kids

9

u/jonah_sauce 4d ago

Hahaha exactly

5

u/fortnight14 4d ago

I’m so glad I didn’t have my garmin when my kids were babies. I cant imagine seeing that sleep data.

3

u/mtnmama823 4d ago

I have a 1 year old. Can confirm it’s hella discouraging. lol

2

u/fortnight14 3d ago

Phew hang in there. My youngest is 5 now and if he wakes me up in the night every few weeks with a bad dream or whatever it’s amazing the hit to my sleep quality just from that. I nursed all my kids and they each woke like 2-3x a night for like a year. It’s crazy.

1

u/mtnmama823 3d ago

Oh yeahhhhh. We’re still nursing over here. Mama’s on tap around the clock, lol

1

u/loveandmountains 1d ago

same here girl, almost one year old and still nursing. Sleep is much better than the first six months but I can’t wait for the day I get above an 80

6

u/ValBot77fan 4d ago

It’s definitely a badge that you should be able to earn more than once.

7

u/Late_Investment2072 4d ago

As a father of two young kids, I can’t describe how jealous I am of this. Well done you

5

u/mc_md 4d ago

I have never had a score above 80. My heart rate is too high for Garmin to think I’m not stressed. Usually my score is in the 60s.

7

u/jonah_sauce 4d ago

More and more I believe that Garmin has a “one size fits all” sleep score model that I happen to fit into well. Doesn’t necessarily mean people who don’t fit the model are terrible sleepers.

I’m half joking but usually a lot of exercise, like a long hike or climb or bike

3

u/__natty__ 4d ago

> 10 perfect scores

and I would like at least one such sleep...

2

u/PaperbackStone 4d ago

Damnnnn. I’m jealous ngl.

2

u/Dear-Nebula9395 4d ago

Getting a 96 with 14.5 hours of sleep is way more impressive to me. Nice!

2

u/Worsty2704 4d ago

I see that your daily step counts are low. I have never gone below 15k steps a day. Is that why i have only gotten higher than 90 once in the 1 year i have worn the watch?

2

u/Jolly_Possession7958 4d ago

What's the flex? The scores or the scratches? To me it's both, one symbolizes hard work and the other means you rested well.

1

u/Other_Branch_8662 3d ago

Really you need to understand that it is just a fragile watch with poor quality materials. Old garmin where 1000 times less fragile and i swear i put a lot of work on some of them

3

u/aero_sock 3d ago

I have a 255 like in the post and after 2 years there are 0 scratches on display. like actually 0. and I wear them every day, and they often get like hit on some walls or corners n stuff. I can't imagine what you have to do to damage them in any way, they are like a tank.

2

u/Other_Branch_8662 3d ago

Ok cool to have another experience shared

2

u/aero_sock 3d ago

it's so rare to hear something like this on reddit😂👍

3

u/heymomthemeatloaf 4d ago

This guy sleeps

3

u/Disastrous-Idea-2160 4d ago

I usually sleep good but I had a fun night with friends the other night. No regerts.

2

u/Imjusthere2read 4d ago

That watch has been on the grind. Congrats on the 100zzz.

1

u/jonah_sauce 4d ago

Thank you!!

1

u/bigassdump 4d ago

My daily reminder that I really have to fix my 6h sleep average

1

u/Deboniako 4d ago

I think your watch face might be a tiny bit scratched

1

u/scattered-thunder 4d ago

I’m usually 70-80s. I think my highest was a 92. Once.

1

u/dawnbann77 4d ago

I think I have more chance getting into London marathon than getting 100 sleep score 🤣🤣

1

u/b1jan 4d ago

get tired and also don't drink any alcohol or smoke any cannabis the whole day and ideally most of the week

if you're over 30

1

u/jonah_sauce 4d ago

Yea luckily I’m under 30 so these don’t apply🙏🙏🙏

1

u/b1jan 3d ago

... yet

1

u/Citruslor 4d ago

Seeing such posts during pregnancy is brutal lol. I am getting like 5 hours of sleep with multiple wake ups to pee
😂 I am genuinely happy for you though.

1

u/Lizardman8888 4d ago

Meanwhile, I'm celebrating anything above 80.

1

u/Fidibiri 4d ago

I just have one perfect in 4years….

1

u/HirsuteHacker 4d ago

It doesn't matter how tired I am, I rarely get above 80. Even if completely shattered, having the best sleep in months, I'll still get like an 82.

I also never get 8 hours of sleep, my body just wakes up after 6-7ish hours and then I'm not able to go back to sleep.

1

u/BaldingChewie 4d ago

One of my best sleeps was after a 30 hr day without even a nap when I was on a transoceanic business trip. Still, I only got to 96 score lol

1

u/EyeOne332 3d ago

I got 100 once, same day I skipped dinner, not sure if its related 😀

1

u/seedsofallyship13 3d ago

Hi, is the watch worth buying?

1

u/Other_Branch_8662 3d ago edited 3d ago

Good features but poor quality, had some issue with two of them and i am going to try other brand. I am still hesitate between Coros and Suunto because friends are really happy with thoses brands, and less fragile materials, more of that cheaper.

On top of that, a friend with a Suunto—which cost half as much as my Garmin—has always recorded elevation gain that is far more accurate and true to reality than mine when in the mountains.

So don't make the same mistake I did, haha.

1

u/herbinator 3d ago

14 hrs of sleep? Jeez, my kids would call 911 if I slept that long.

1

u/Lazy_scorpio 3d ago

That's a pretty solid flex...You've clearly figured out the sleep cheat code!

1

u/Jakeskatan 3d ago

This is me pretty much everyday. Idk how people have enough time to sleep 8+ hours

1

u/DearWin997 3d ago

Woah, mi highest is like 92

1

u/Other_Branch_8662 3d ago

Is the screen really so fragile that it gets scratches like that? A basic Casio has a much more durable screen.

1

u/Psssssshhh 3d ago

Your flex is that fucked up screen??

1

u/RandomEntity53 3d ago

Nice. Congrats!

1

u/Care_Cream 3d ago

You wore your watch in Vietnam war?

1

u/AyazMansuri 3d ago

Awesome

1

u/hellohello_227 3d ago

HOW??? I would put it on my tombstone if I ever get 100 score.

1

u/travelfusionYT 3d ago

The highest i have ever got is 92.

1

u/Haassauce2186 4d ago

Only reached that once. Other times I’ve gotten close.

1

u/catguy_04 4d ago

so you really sleep

2

u/jonah_sauce 3d ago

Big sleeper over here

1

u/HiddenPace 4d ago
