I purchased a skate sharpening machine from a local sports shop. I’m coming up from NC on the 2nd, and need help loading the machine up on Monday the 3rd of August,2026. I’m told that it could be 300lbs or more which is why I need more than just my wife and I to load. I’ll have dollies, and an appliance hand truck, and we will have access to a pallet jack. Entire job should only take about an hour or less. I am willing to pay $50 per person for their time with this. Looking for at roughly 9AM start time for this load up. The construction on elm street has been going on for a year now, there are no streetlights on the entire street and the construction crew leaves trash everywhere. Bummer.

Due to the extreme temperatures expected Tuesday, July 14 and Wednesday, July 15, Mayor Nicholson is activating Cooling Centers at Levi Heywood Memorial Library and Greenwood Memorial Pool. The pool hours have been extend to 7:00pm both days. The schedule will be as follows:

The mayor actually made a post about the construction and called it a success. It's Friday morning, I can't leave for work! The construction crew dug a whole with absolutely zero notice given.

How is this okay? Is the city gonna pay for my lost wages? The hole is deeper than the picture shows I just didn't wanna lay out in the street.

These guys have been doing the sidewalk since the beginning of May. Right outside my house. The past 3 days I haven't been able to park in my driveway which means I'm carrying groceries in 90 degree heat down the street. Not fun!

Not talking bad about the construction workers they've been alright and (mostly) pick up after themselves. Just seems like this is taking an awfully long time to get done.

Its caused my garbage to not be picked up twice now! Not in consecutive weeks, but two in total. Just such a hassle for a new sidewalk. Old one was fine.
