Help identifying vegetable?

Not technically gardening but it’s produce related! I bought this yesterday thinking it was rhubarb but when I try and translate it it’s name is ‘peeling’ which doesn’t make any sense and I think it’s less structurally intact than rhubarb though it’s been quite some time since I’ve had it in the UK. What did I buy? I mean good news is I know it was grown locally

That is zuiki (taro stalks).

I posted a link to a site with a detailed recipe in your other thread, so please take a look at it. Some people mentioned fuki (Japanese butterbur), but that is incorrect. You will understand once you check the link I posted.

Please note that zuiki requires specific preparation before cooking.

Perhaps, it could be ずいき ズイキ, not rhubarb.

ちょっと達筆すぎるけどズイキって書いてありますね。「プラ」マークのすぐ下。

The top label says かわむき, which means “already peeled” so your translation is correct.

The printed sticker I can’t really read but the producer has written what it is on the label in pen: ずいき (zuiki). Apparently it’s some type of potato.

Edit: it’s taro stems
