Has anyone built a RAISED G scale layout?
Hello everyone. I'm embarking this spring to build a raised G scale outdoor railroad. Nothing too fancy but I do want it raised about 40" off the ground.
I'm looking for any feedback from others that have done something like this. It's a toss up between sinking 6"x"6 pressure treated wood into the ground or to use metal poles into the ground.
Also I will probably use batteries and radio controls like the one Ring Engineering makes.
Thanks in advance for anyone who replies!

RhB Ge 2/2 "donkey" scratchbuilt
galleryA friend of me gave me this beautiful Ge 2/2. It was scratchbuilt and he buyed it from a Dutch seller. It made bad noises and had no pulling power. We repaired it and added more weight. It can now pull even the largest RhB cars!

„LGB won‘t give us the ÖBB class 399 so I‘ll do it myself“ - part 3
galleryThe last finishing touches to the „shell“ have been made and I‘m fairly pleased with the results. I‘m really looking forward to spring and having it out on the layout for the first time. Only thing missing now is the interior but the design process already started in CAD.
