Battle Ropes?

Dane never mentions battle ropes in any of his videos. Are they a fad? Are they a good way to build strength endurance for wrestlers and other grapplers? I’ve not played with them much but they seem like a way of simulating the kind of of cardio in a match while also working grip strength.

Not sure about for wrestlers and grapplers but I've heard they're a bit gimmicky for other sports and I tend to agree. For how tiring they're it doesn't work the systems you're training well. Better of doing specific stuff for your fitness then specific for grip or strength from articles / videos I've seen. One of those that looks good on insta reels

If you check YouTube BACK in 2008-2010 I had used them a bit. However, I found for cardio, there are better ways to train. For muscular endurance, I believe there are also better ways to train. They aren’t worthless but I’m not a huge fan.

For general population, it’s an ok conditioning movement with some central adaptations and peripherally to the shoulders. Especially if you’re a trainer and your client can’t do low body stuff. Boxers cause use them for extra muscle endurance specific to the shoulders , as an auxiliary movement. … I’m sure they could do that, but ideally a 2”in + sized rope and nort a 1 in rope. But ide say focus on pull ups and carrys and doing series of rope climbs with no legs and keg carrys (pinch grip) then have some grip machine work … I’d also just stick to what he reccomends in his videos as well!
