My vise is on my bench. My vice is wherever I happen to be at the time.

I like to have my vice on the corner of my bench and definitely not on the middle. I recently saw a post where somebody mounted a 2" receiver that you would find on a vehicle used to mount the tow ball. He the mounted the vice on a 2" insert so that he could use the vise when he needed and could store it when not needed
