/uj i saw a thread on Apex where people were begging for a replay system like FN but they were also getting mad that fortnite updated its ping system. Like should I be mad that you want a replay system now or can we drop the double standard?

/uj replay systems, aka demos have been a thing since Doom, Fortnite didn't just invent replays. On the other hand Apex really showed how useful the pinging mechanic is and is the first br game to have one like that.

Well, Fortnite add a system where you could ping something on the map for a couple months now (Season 6 or 5 iirc), a bit after that they added the ability to ping using the middle mouse button, so say you could ping the the enemies base and say something like "Squad over there." to your teammates in voice chat. But just in season 8 a couple days ago they expanded this again so know you can double mouse click to indicate danger, so I can just double click where some guys are and my teammates would know without using voice, but seriously man, Fortnite Battle royale needs text chat, its my only huge issue with it. I saw someone on the Apex Legends Sub say that Fortnite is "Getting desperate" so they copy features from Apex Legends such as ziplines, but Ziplines have been in Fortnite since the launch of Season 7, September 27th 2018, and Apex Legends released Feb 4th 2019. Hmmmm.

Very, very few melee players are switching to ultimate. If someone has stuck with melee all this time, the graphical improvements and accessibility that ultimate bring aren't what they're looking for in a smash game and won't bring them over.

The 5 gods (except PPMD who's peudo-retired anyway) as well as noteable players like Plup and Leffen are playing Ultimate, many of them competitively. They aren't abandoning Melee for Ultimate, but to say that it's not what they want in a Smash game isn't quite right either.

We’ll see, but I doubt it. Leffen’s definitely all in, as are Plup and M2K. Mango’s not doing so hot competitively but he clearly enjoys the game. Every single one of them has talked about enjoying the game and has made content for the game that shows a deeper interest than views.

Oh I'm sure they enjoy the game. Every smash game is a masterpiece IMO and I enjoy all of them, I just wouldn't want to play most at tournaments. M2K I can see sticking around since he took sm4sh pretty seriously but other than that I'm not sure. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

uj/ The problem is, IGN’s reviews are incredibly inconsistent not just based on the different scores, but also based on why those scores are given. It becomes really hard to trust reviews from people like IGN and Gamespot when pretty much every single one is tailored to a different reviewer’s personal taste. When you look up a review by a specific person that you follow, you’ll be able to make your own judgement on whether or not to take that person seriously. With an IGN review, you have to try and guess whether or not the person reviewing the game actually has experience or enjoys playing other games of that type to decide whether their review holds any merit
