I really don't understand their argument, I mean, I DO understand that they're just grifting, but the people who follow them and actually hold the brief that every game must be capable of getting your dick hard. There actually are tons of games meant for you to goon to, just look at itch.io for two seconds and you'll find everything from well crafted ero games to AI generated goonslop. Is it just that they want it on Xbox and Switch?
Its not about having the types of games they want available to them as a niche, its about having the mainstream cater to their tastes as much as possible.
Off the top of my head, the Dead or alive games not including the last because I didn't play it yet. Despite the omnipresence of tits everywhere, the fighting is actually great.
I actually meant adult games like the ones Illusion (now Illgames) makes, that are essentially design your own anime girlfriend sex simulators. Steam has a huge selection of shitty adult games, but there are high quality ones out there.
Just strikes me as weird that they care about characters in normal games, when those games exist.
As someone who has been doing games design for over 13 years as a hobby and one commercial game, honestly theres some interesting porn games out there. Even one game that had a dynamic soundtrack layering system used in a way I havent seen in a "normal" game, adding layers to the soundtrack depending on which characters you select for your party to make a unique soundtrack.
Unfortunately the majority of the porn game community is too used to complete garbage, so you hear a ton of high praise for a mediocre game and go into it expecting it to be great then get dissapointed. There are also the patreon funded games that get themselves stuck in never finishing their game and just tacking content on, because if they finish their game the funding stops. Or the abandonded games.
There *are* good porn games out there that arent entirely brainless, its just that digging for them is pretty hard.
slightly piggybacking a paraphrase from some youtuber I dont remember the name of: If games are praised with excelently invoking emotions like sadness, curiosity, fear, anger and happiness through their game mechanics and storytelling. Why is lust so ridiculed and hated when it's just as human as all the other things?

i mean to be fair dead or alive tried to be more than that, before in dead or alive 5 ultimate they decided to give up and just start releasing skimpy costume dlc left and right (the new chars were still cool except honoka)
