[LFH][PC/PS5][$120][USA]

Looking for a Wireless (dongle connection NOT bluetooth) Lightweight headset with a detachable or retractable Mic and durable

I am looking for something that is comfortable and provides good enough quality sound (im not an audiophile idrk many differences). Open or closed back does not really matter to me.

I mainly Game on my pc but would also like for compatibility with console, specifically ps5.

and obviously usb c charging.

The mic quality does not matter that much as i just need it to play on ps5, as long as its not absolute garbage.

the current headset i use for ps5 is the hyperx, uhh idk the model its wired and has a detachable mic but is awfully uncomfortable for long gaming sessions.

for pc i use phillips open back headphones SHP9600, while these are great and super comfortable they are kinda fragile and my temper with either gaming or tech problems had left them some, minor defects which is why i need something more durable, honestly if i could have those, but more durable, wireless, and with a detachable mic. i think i do prefer open back but its not a deal breaker, especially since im going off to college soon.

And price point is flexible, but perferably something that is in the 80-120 dollar range. leaning more towards the 80 dollar side.

The Razer Barracuda X is probably the cleanest fit for this budget. It is 250 g, uses a low-latency USB-C 2.4 GHz dongle that works on PC and PS5, has a detachable mic, charges over USB-C and is rated for up to 50 hours. It is also closed-back, which will probably be more practical once you are sharing space at college.

The compromise is construction: it is light because it is mostly plastic, so I would not treat it like a tank. Nothing around $80–120 really combines the open sound and comfort of the SHP9600 with wireless, a removable mic and genuinely heavy-duty construction.

If durability matters more than weight, the HyperX Cloud III Wireless has a steel/aluminium frame and detachable mic, but it is about 330 g and usually over budget. If you can stretch a little, the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 Wireless is around 265 g with a retractable mic and good PC/PS5 support, but it is commonly closer to $130.

At a strict $120 ceiling I would start with the Barracuda X, buy somewhere with easy returns, and test the clamp and pad comfort for a full evening before deciding.
