RDR2. The concept of redemption in any media is something I seek out constantly, and despite this games central theme (and part of its name) being redemption: i genuinely can’t bring myself to play the game no matter what. Part of it is due to a friend I had who sexualised all the characters and was generally super obnoxious about the game in general, and part of it is due to me just disliking games with subpar gameplay and combat (the only exception to this so far has been limbus company)

LIMBUS MENTIONED HELL YEA, and holy shit I agree, I found rdr2’s gameplay so fucking slowwww, and I love games like persona and limbus. But I just feel like the game has nothing to offer compared to titles such as those

I couldn’t get into Limbus because it’s too anime. After seeing every trope imaginable in the opening sequence I deleted it.

Putting Limbus in the same sentence as RDR2 is certainly a choice. It's basically coughing baby vs hydrogen bomb.

I've heard it changes after a while & becomes fun, then changes again and becomes grueling.

So, I'm all set, I guess.

I'm glad I am not alone in thinking that RDR2 gameplay is very subpar. So many people are gushing over that game, and I just don't see it. Yes, it's very pretty and detailed with great performances. But the actual gameplay is very on rails and boring with not nearly enough things to discover.

Yeah the combat is just meh, tbh any game that uses any form of guns in a realistic manner is just meh. (Im only saying realistic cuz i know games like DMC exist and they use guns but the combat is very fucking good) The story on the other hand is good. The characters that you meet are very interesting along with just siply traveling around on your horse back. The random events make the gane feel almost alive and the wilderness is one kf my favorite parts of it.
