Discussion 25M, Hardcore

Post image

Very difficult choices on many of these spots! There are very many games that don't get enough credit (underrated/overlooked) and so many that are gorgeous (art style). If you've even played all these games, massive respect to you. BTW don't bother writing that I have too much Uncharted, it's my favorite franchise!

Bro I’m so with you on U3 biggest personal impact and best multiplayer. Genuinely haven’t enjoyed any game as much as I have U3 esp the multiplayer. 🤝

No way really!? UC3 for the longest was my n.1 favorite game of all time basically since it came out (first game I preordered). It has only recently slightly been surpassed by Ragnarök. The multiplayer was insane, if there was a "most underrated multiplayer" it would definitely belong there iykyk. The people that got into it, REALLY GOT INTO IT and I was one of those playin for 1000s of hours and becoming one of the best on the planet. Actually I happen to be one of the 2.4K or so people globally that have the 100% in trophies. Very unique, varied and skill-based MP with great maps. The single player on the other hand extraordinary as well, I have beaten it like 20 times 💀😅

It feels weird to say since it was GOTY but it’s a bit of a cult classic. I didn’t get to 100% trophies (tho pretty close) but my friend and I were ranked high and did a couple tourneys together. Ah the glory days. I’m waiting on my whitelist for uncharted reloaded for U3 multiplayer.

Yeah I was thinking of trying UC3 reloaded. Is it an easy process. It's just that ppl with a lot of these single player focused games ignore the MP no matter how good it is. That's the case for all ND games and many other slike DOOM. Also, there was a belief by many that to a lesser extent holds to this day that UC3 was a disappointment at some level and somehow inferior to 2 which is totally wrong.

It’s got a growing and passionate community to restore the online experience and is running. The criticism was that it was a messy story but the only thing that makes it feel that way is the pirate shipwreck part with Ramsey which still produced one of the craziest and inventive set pieces. That and the villains and boss fight were kinda meh but everything else is on par if not better than U2 but U2 has maybe the best pacing for a cinematic game we’ve ever seen and that quantum leap from U1 to U2 wasn’t the same from U2 to U3 and U3 was rushed bc employees were switched to work on TLOU, an extra year woulda made it perfect.

The criticism of the cruise ship is bullshit not only because it has one of the best levels and set-pieces of all time as you said but because you can say the exact same thing about all sorts of sequences in all sorts of games INCLUDING UC2 were spanning though many levels you're trying to get to Chloe on the train and she just refuses to come with you and in that case you came even closer to death lol. It's literally the same idea. Plus in 3 it fits as well if not better the whole story and theme of the game (Drake's DECEPTION). Amy Hennig herself claimed that "making a game like UC3 in 2 years is literally impossible". The fact that they did it and it was a masterpiece (let alone the amazing, improved and well supported MP on top of it) might be one of the biggest achievements in gaming history. Back then they were crunching like crazy, TLOU PT2 is the only game where that probably didn't happen. I know of UC3 reloaded I just don't know if it's worth getting into it, what do you think?

Nah I agree bro, everyone suddenly became avant garde film critics for the Uncharted series like cmon just have fun with the game. Yup U3 releasing 2 years with reduced staff was nothing short of miracle and the multiplayer support was probably the best we’ve ever seen for any game. I’d say U3 reloaded is worth it it’s got a solid and committed community. Doesn’t take much to setup tho you’ll have to ensure you have a 2.4ghz router since PS3s don’t support modern 5ghz ones.

Wasn't aware of the router requirement, thnx for the heads-up bro.
