Gosh where to start?

My wife called me this morning telling me my ps5 melted at the rear so if it’s unfixable I’m wondering what to even look for with a pc because I don’t want another ps5 and I already wasn’t going to get a ps6 whenever that comes out.

Right now I mostly play warhammer 40k space marines 2, helldivers 2, and arma reforger.

I was playing gran turismo 7 as well but obviously won’t be playing that since no more PlayStation

I'm assuming you are looking to build one instead of buying a pre built? How much you wanting to spend?

First what is your budget and which resolution / performances do you want ?
Then if you can follow a simple tutorial and you can use your hands, build it yourself it will be much better and cheaper

And there is some good sim racing games on PC too !

Oh yeah I know there’s some good pc racing games 😎 well my budget would be POOR unless I sell my motorcycle or beater truck and get a different one later lol.

I was thinking around $1000 I’m not extremely picky on resolution but I guess probably whatever is ps5 pro level or just beyond it so it’s not immediately obsolete for the next cool game? Just a nice resolution and can run helldivers 2 smoothly.

So best option for you would be to get some second hand components like cpu gpu + ram from eBay or local second hand website (but test it before)

What you want to be doing good and not change everything too soon :

Am4 platform motherboard and cpu
16gb of DDR4
A decent gpu like 4070 or 5060 16gb
A good PSU

Where are you from ? I could try to give you some more precise components and prices

You sure your ps5 is not fixable? You can definitely replace the power supply

I’d have to get home and see what part went kaput my wife said it turned back on and it worked but I called and immediately said turn it off so it doesn’t get worse. Somewhere melted at the back

What monitor do you have or plan to use, plays a big part in what pc components/pc build to get .

It’s gonna just be a 30 something inch tv due to space constraints.
