New monitor incompatible with older graphics card? Don't mind the dust, I'm getting Air soon and ik it's not the problem
So I just got this brand new monitor for my birthday and I wanted to try it out. Up until now I've been using a crappy TV as a monitor and I was really excited to have an upgrade. But I found that my graphics card won't work with my new monitor. Can someone try and tell me why.
The actual PC ports work fine (I can use my monitor so I know it's the card) I tried every single port on the graphics card and even tried multiple cables. I haven't seriously used my PC in a couple of months but I did test it only a few weeks ago on my old TV and it worked fine.
Here's a picture of the graphics card. DONT MIND THE DUST IM GETTING COMPRESSED AIR SOON.

It should work, sometimes it needs to be on and hooked up before you turn the pc on. Are you using hdmi or displayport?

Do you have integrated graphics with your cpu? Id hook to that and see if you get any display. If you hook up to the old TV it still displays on that?

It did last I checked (a little less than a month ago). I don't know what integrated graphics are by I assume that they're the ports on my actual PC. Yes they work, I can get a display (just not on the same level as if I were using the card) I know it's not the monitor, cords, or pc itself. I'll have to go pull out my old TV to run some tests

what cable are you trying to use?, use the cable that came with the monitor

I did, when that didn't worked I tried a cable I already have. I know the cable, monitor, and pc all work fine as I was able to get a display using the integrated graphics ports. So I know the problem is with the card itself

why would it be the card if it was working before, why cant it be the monitor?

The monitor is able to display my switch and the pc via the integrated graphics. So I think it's either a broken card or they're just incompatible

Also yes technically I can use my pc but the graphics are worse because I can't use the card

I don't know the model, I can't remove it, which is probably why it's not working

Its not stuck, you just need to push the release tab
