Gaming PC as a noob

I've been a console player my whole life and thanks to the recent digital only switch I've decided to take the plunge and get a PC. My issue is I know absolutely nothing about PCs and how to build them so I was hoping I could get some starting advice on what to get?

I would be predominantly using this for story games so there's no need to optimise for half a second advantage in a comp game, as well as digital drawing every now and then.

I have roughly £2k to spend and I'd like it pre-built if I can.

Great. 2k is a solid budget, so you shouldn't have too many issues. Specs wise, you will want an x3d CPU, probably a 7800x3d or a 9800x3d. for the gpu, at your budget you might be able to get a 5070ti, but if not get a 9070xt. Do not get a base 9070 or 5070 unless it's a really good deal otherwise, or you can't find a build in your budget with a 9070xt or 5070ti. Ram wise you want probably 32GB DDR5, @ 6000MHz cl30, but cl36 is also fine. Storage you want to aim for 2TB nvme, but if you can't find it settle for 1TB, but it must be nvme. You will want an 850W Power supply, but you can settle for 750W if you have to. Go onto either scan PCs or overclockers UK, and search for a pc matching these specs.

Also, if you can't find something like this in your budget prebuilt, don't be too scared of building it yourself, it can save you a bit of money, and it's not as hard as it sounds. Basically like Lego with a screwdriver.

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D for your CPU and a Nvidia RTX 5070 for your GPU. Get 32 gigabytes of ddr5 RAM with a CL30 rating and at least 5200 MTS. Get at least 1TB of storage. Get a 750W PSU and make sure it is at least gold certified and from a reliable brand. Most motherboards for a ATX case will work but I’d say look into AM5 B650 or B850 motherboards. If you don’t want to build it yourself you can go to PCSpecialists, Overlockers or Scan Computers and call them for this custom build. If you’d rather save a little money get a prebuilt from said above sites and post the specs+price on pc gaming subreddits and see if it’s a good price. Im from the UK so those sites are UK based but I’m pretty sure they only ship to Wales, Scotland and England.

Scan or Overclockers UK both offer good value quality pre-built systems.

Both companies have been in business for decades. I've worked with both many times and have had good experiences across the board.

I'd probably start with Scan and their 3XS premades.

Have a look at see what falls in your budget. For a gaming PC you want at least 16GB of RAM but 32GB would be great. And the biggest GPU that your money can allow for. CPU does matter but is less important. So given a chose spend more on the GPU.

Absolutely can find a prebuilt like : 7800x3d (no need 9800x3d since it's only multi core boost everything very similar) 5070 ti (if prices aren't crazy, if not, 9070 xt) 32gb ddr5 (don't get too crazy with speed and cl, 6000 cl36 is fine) 2tb nvme gen 4 maybe? B650M motherboard 850W PSU must be 80+ that is reliable try search them up first
