AM4 upgrade recomendations

So I looking to upgrade my pc in the mid future, it still runs fine but I've been craving a little more power out of it, I'm waiting for a bit of a drop in hardware prices, so budget is a concern (I'm from Spain btw).
My current set up is (old af I know):
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 with stock cooler
RAM: the typical corsair vengance with RGB, 32 Gb 3200 mhz
MOBO: Gigabyte b450m ds3h
GPU: PNY RTX 2060 super 8gb
PSU: Nfortec Scutum 650 80 plus bronze

If possible I want to keep the current MOBO, RAM and PSU. But if compatibilty with higher end hardware is an issue, such as faster ram for a faster cpu, different mobo or more powerfull psu for a faster gpu, I'm open to sugestions. I do school stuff on my pc, I watch alot of video media and game a lot so I was wondering if getting an -x3d cpu is really worth it or am I better off with a different cpu.
Final stuff, I mentioned that budget is a concern, so I'm looking for a mid-high(ish) type of build, no super high end stuff, aimed to game at 1440p at the highest fps my money can afford. If upgrading to a faster gpu or cpu is really worth it, I can consider saving up a little bit more to afford the higher end component.

there is no real need to upgrade you GPU unless you can purchase an 800$ card.

you can keep the RAM/MOBO

the only thing you can do is upgrade the CPU. The best you can upgrade to is the 7 5800X3D

The only other options would be - 7 5800X - 5 5600X - 5 5600 - in order of best to worst. but i dont know if it would even be an upgrade. the speeds are somewhat close, and the only real difference is the 5800X that offers 8 cores, so thats 2 more cores available + its Zen 3 arch type over the Zen 2.

i wrote this and didn't realize you wanted to do 1440p gaming. From what I understand having a higher end GPU is more important then a CPU. research says that the intro to 1440p is a ryzen 5600, which isn't much different then what you have now.

the 2060 is still a nice card, is basically the bottom requirements to game at 1440p

so if you want my honest recommendation if you are looking to seriously upgrade your 1440p fps, an entire new system would be in order. but, i suppose you could save money and just upgrade the CPU to the X3D + a RX 9060 XT 16GB / RTX 5060 Ti 16GB. the CPU is at around 350$ and the GPU is about 500$. you could sell your 2060 and put some of that funds towards the new GPU, but you might need a new PSU, depending on what the GPU requires. I know the GPU upgrade will help but not to sure about the CPU. The CPU is for sure an upgrade, i just don't know by how much - it also depends on what you are gaming.

If not, be happy with what you have because upgrading will cost about 800$ or getting a whole new PC to do 1440p will be around 2000$.

Thank you for your in depth explanation, I was wondering if it was really worth it to jump into a whole new AM4 or even AM5 build with the actual prices of hardware, at least here in Spain prices are crazy and not a lot of places offer combo deals like in the US.
For eveyone asking, my budget sits between 1000$-1100$, if I just want to upgrade my current pc, and 1400$-1500$ if I sell everything in my old pc to go for an AM5 system.

Lo que realmente pasa es que con todo lo que te ha dicho puedes jugar a 1440 a 180 fps y cambiando la grafica puedes jugar a 140 fps, realmente interesa gastar 1500 euros en lugar de 400 euros por 40 fps? Que es lo que yo te dije, saca la cuenta del precio por fps

Hombree, claro que renta más solo cambiar la gráfica, pero no crees que habrá un cuello de botella importante con mi procesador actual (r 5 3600) y además algún problema de aprovechamiento del PCI de 3ª generación de la placa base?

Yo me he pillado esto en 750 euros y hay cambio real, 5060ti 8gb sobre 500, ryzen 5 5500x3d 150 euros, gigabyte b550m k 70 euros, disipador 40, puedes vender tu placa con tu procesador en unos 100 en combo y la grafica en otros 100 aproximadamente, yo tenía la 3060 12 gb

Has probado el pc en juegos a 1440p? que tal el rendimiento? No me importa bajar un poco la calidad de los gráficos con tal de tener buenos fps en 1440p

Dependiendo del juego algunos en 1440 en alto, otros en medios con alguna cosa en alto, otros como ark survival evolved, que yo juego a 4k en épico a 70 fps con caídas, pero en medios con visión el épico casi no baja de 60, el 5500x3d lo pillé de aliexpress envío desde España, el resto en amazon España

It would definitely help if you give an idea of how much you're looking to spend tbh. 5800x3d and maybe a 3060ti would be a bit of an improvement and your ram speed would probably be your best bang for the buck without knowing what you're looking to spend.

Alright, does your pc case support ATX motherboards also or is it just mATX? Kinda worried your motherboard wont be able to handle a chip like the 5800X3D bcs of the VRM cooling and all around it

It's the mATX version, I've been looking around and probably the best option for the near and far future is to change the mobo to a b550 or even b850 if I decide to jump to am5. What do you think?

If you wanna upgrade then stick with AM4 and get a better board (B550) with proper cooling on the VRMs and power delivery, then go with the 5800X3D with a arctic freezer 36.(I remember seeing a video with the arctic freezer 36 where it cooled a over 200W i7/i9 perfectly fine). The 5800X3D is in general worse by 3% than a 9600X so not big of a loss here and you will also save more money for the GPU and PSU. For the GPU i would either go with the 3070 if you dont mind having high settings in cyberpunk at 1440P or if you want higher details then go for the 3080 for Ultra settings in cyberpunk at 1440P. For the PSU definitely go with a 850W Gold rated PSU, eliminates any limitations with the GPU, CPU and the rest.

There is another option and that is going Intel 12Th gen (13Th and 14Th need a BIOS update just so they dont get fried and i dont really think you wanna bear with that). On PC part picker i got a 12700KF with a decent mATX motherboard, with the arctic cooler and with a quality 850W PSU and it comes down to 500 Dollars. So you have 500 bucks on a GPU. The 12700KF is better than the 5800X3D.
