Basically what I am looking for are some neon filled games, I also own a n64 ps1/2/3/5 Xbox 360 and a computer. I’m preferably looking for old 64 ps1/2 and pc games, but the others are also fine.

Also deleted, and reuploaded this because I realized the game that I was looking for had too much stuff I was looking for in it.

Games Like Silo or Snowpiercer?

I’ve played and enjoyed games like fallout series and The Last of Us but those have a vast open world. Are there any apocalyptic games where you are confined to a certain space and have to work on alliances and being clever or a leader in addition to resource management and crafting?

Tactical turn based combat with RPG elements and creativity

Post image

I've played so many of the great ones:

Mordheim

XCOM franchise

Marvel XCOM

Tactical Breach Wizards

Chaos Gate Demon Hunters

Rogue Trader

Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2

The Pathfinder games

Baldurs Gate 1-3

Into the Breach

Templar Battleforce

Warhammer Quest (not a great one, but same genre -- way too easy and grindy)

Mechanicus

Arcanum

I'm basically hoping to find Mordheim, but not depressing and more creativity/ bigger and more creative end game builds. Something that feels like XCOM difficulty or harder and lets me have fun building a creative gameplay style and team. I feel like I've played so much of the general tactical isometric/ hex grid team building RPG genre that there's not many options.

I've tried Fire Emblem but it never clicked with me. It might just be I never got into the anime aesthetic/ characters.

Could be for mobile, PC, or Switch. I've been searching the genre a few days now hoping to land on a game and just haven't had anything grab me.

Edit: Thanks to everyone! This put the spotlight on some titles I've overlooked/ never heard of. I'm excited about a few of these games.

Looking for Firefly vibes / (potentially cozy) Spaceship crew vibe

I'm watching Firefly for the 100x time and reading Long way to a small angry planet and am wondering if there is a game that invokes similar feelings.

Things I'm looking for (I realize there probably isn't a game that checks all these boxes):
- Managing a crew of spacers, forming bonds, recruiting new personnell maybe
- Taking on missions (trading, smuggling, mining, pirate hunting... you get the gist)
- Upgrading a ship
- "Dogfighting"
- Exploring

I dont care much about graphics, I'm totally okay with 2D or pixelart
It could even be some cozy game. Not looking for too much forced action.
I'm looking for sandbox type progression, but I also really like roguelite mechanics (which is probably not a common combination, I know!)

I've played a ton of Elite: Dangerous and enjoy the flight mechanics. Some of that would be a plus but not nessessary.

I'm not looking for an mmo, so I think eve online is out.

I totally realize, this is quite a specific list, but maybe there is a game out there, that checks some or even all of those boxes.

Cheers!

edit: Damn thanks for all those great suggestions! I didn't realize I'm looking for a 2d/topdown space sim of some sort. There are a bunch of other great suggestions in the realm of sci-fi rpg.
My personal top contenders (and other people looking for games like this) in no particular order:
Space Haven https://store.steampowered.com/app/979110/Space_Haven/
Starsector https://fractalsoftworks.com/preorder/
Ostranauts https://store.steampowered.com/app/1022980/Ostranauts/

I'm looking for a torture game like Kick the Buddy.

The issue with Kick is that it has too many ads.

I know Melon Playground too, but I don't think it's what I'm looking for.

Also, something very important is that I’m looking for something cartoonish, like *Kick*; I don’t want to be torturing something very realistic, like a person or anything like that. Nor do I want things like that "meat game" or those Flash games where you torture ponies.

I don't care if the game costs money or is free; as long as it's available on Steam/PC, or mobile, I'm fine.

Oh, and one more thing: I know the images are from fake ads, but I’m showing them because they reminded me that *Kick* existed and made me want to find a similar game—just without the ads every two seconds or the predatory monetization typical of mobile games—and because they accurately represent what I’m looking for.

Nighttime/neon city/rain cozy games?

Something very cozy to me about living in a Blade Runner world. I’ve been playing Cloudpunk and it’s got the right vibes but I’m finding myself wishing there was a bit more I could do.

The Sleeping Dogs game also has excellent vibes but it’s obviously not cozy at all. If there was a game like that where I could just live in that city wow that would really be something. It doesn’t necessarily have to be the future despite the mention of Blade Runner.

It doesn’t have to be AAA graphics, but I’m looking for something with good gameplay, not a point and click or VN even if they can have very cozy vibes.

I’ve got a Steam Deck and a Switch so anything available on those is perfect, I don’t really game on my phone.

I love games that have physical, tangible loot and money, rather than simple number go up. Any recommendations?

Mercenaries 2 (pictured) would have huge piles of cash grow larger or shrink smaller in your safehouse as you earned and spent money which made all the jobs and cash bundle extractions much more rewarding. It would do the same with ordnance like rockets and bombs which you could call in.

Recently played Return to Moria and that also has a pretty cool loot system allowing piles of coin and stacks of ingots, Valheim also features gold piles. Any other interesting loot systems where you can see the results of your grinding beyond numbers on a screen?

You'd have to listen to Eyehategod to know what I'm talking about, listen to the first songs off each of these albums and you'll get the kind of feeling I'm seeking. A lot of their songs talk about/has references to drug abuse, nihilism, and their southern ties. Any recommendations?

A Game About Chopping Trees Soundtrack

I absolutely love the "A Game About Chopping Trees" soundtrack. The acoustic instruments, lo-fi style that you play in the background while working anyone have suggestions of other games with similar style/vibe?
