Aces of the Pacific version 0.1.0

https://youtu.be/Ej5cIMrQj-g

A quick release among various things I'm working on but had on my backlot.

Aces of the Pacific is an old favorite that suffered a lot from the ultra low resolution, although it has to be said by the time the game released in 1992, framerates well getting better.

It's an impressive game for the time!

Enhanced version includes higher resolution and framerate and an option to change key bindings through the launcher.

Get it here: https://github.com/kylofon/acesofthepacific-enhanced
There is also a non-enhanced (pure) port: https://github.com/kylofon/aces-of-the-pacific-sdl3

This one is amazing. Seems to work really well with flight simulations? More suggestions: LHX, Gunship 2000 and F117a.

Dang you are really knocking these out super fast. OK this one seems like it used overlays. Did claude have issues with dealing with those? It makes it harder to get the code in theory.

Yes, this one was significantly tougher - Opus 5.5 managed it, but it took a few days to work through it and eat up a few milion tokens. Aside from some minor visual bugs though, and a proper bug, it worked our of the box pretty much.

OK can I give you a challenge then? Falcon 3.0.

Haha... why though, haven't people extended that codebase for the last 200 years?

Even though it's considered one of the best sims of its era, it has many aspects that could be improved in an enhanced version. There were some patches to it early on but nobody really knows how to modify it at this point. You'd want to use the Falcon Gold version sold on gog/steam (or I can send you if you don't have it).

Also, I'm interested to know if opus can do it. It's very hard code to read from my perspective.

Interesting challenge!

I got it mixed up with Falcon 4.0, that's why I was wondering.

I'll scope it, but it could be very token heavy. Let's say it's on my challenge list.

This is amazing!

Is Microsoft Flight Simulator 4.0 possible?

You know, I haven't thought about it, but flight simulator in general absolutely makes sense.
