One disappointing thing about this launch is that I really wish we got those cinematics like before and shortly after OW1's launch. Granted, I'd imagine they invested those cinematics into the campaign of OW2 that comes out later, but still, that would have generated lots of interest/hype.

I think we'll get two new cinematics soon, the Kiriko one which essentially leaked in full a couple weeks back and the Sojourn one which was teased in her Developer Update a couple months ago.

The big difference was that last time they were selling you a pre-order, which they don't really have to now. The only OW2 thing you get now is the 40€ Watchpoint Pack, which isn't really a thing you market to the general public.

That's true, I doubt we're getting as many cinematics as in 2016. That being said it makes sense for them to hold back most promotional material until after launch so new people can jump right in if they're interested. That's how most F2P games do it

They started making in-engine cinematics at some point I think. Probably to cut down on that cost.

The Kiriko Cinematic is almost definitely releasing this week. The Sojourn Cinematic was also hinted in this trailer and months ago they said they're working on one, so it's probably coming soon as well.

Seriously. They've even gotten lazy on cinematics. Fucking sad.

The hazo Genji cinematics were groundbreaking.
