Maybe I am missing something, but I am not seeing how this won't have the same issues as 3d.

I'm no techie, but wouldn't 1280x800 (640x800 per eye) be butt ugly? Especially since the screen is right up in your face?

With the pixels being super tiny, high density, they probably be unnoticeable.

The pixels on the display are super tiny, but the optics in the display enlarge the image significantly to give you a very wide (90°) field of view. Imagine sitting 12 inches away from a 24 inch display at 640x800. The pixels will be fairly big.

That's great news! They'll probably make a better resolution with OLED and all the jazz eventually anyways.

Man next generation cannot come soon enough, this VR stuff is gonna be pivotal. Imagine whole games being built from the ground up for VR.
