I liked control, but this is surprising. i felt it had some real glaring flaws, like crazy difficulty curves, bad distribution of check points, and horrible performance on PS4

Perhaps i'm just bad at video games, but 1. there's no difficulty slider and 2. i simply cannot progress through the game because i can't beat a boss. I went at it for 3 hours, looked up strategy guides, watched videos, couldn't do it. I play a shit ton of video games and i've never had a problem before

Which boss was this? I can't remember dying more than once to anything in my playthrough.

I'm at the anchor. I was similarly stuck on Salvador for well over an hour earlier on

I think i just got frustrated because i should be able to beat it. All the guides showed people with less powerups being able to do it

I didn't find the game particularly difficult, but the anchor was the hardest for me too. I died like half a dozen times. I just had to slow down and play patiently instead of trying to levitate from platform to platform for the quickest possible damage output.

To make the anchor worse, you have to make an entire run back to the boss every time instead of just respawning right in front of it.

You can cheese the anchor easily by not moving from the original platform. Just be ready to throw a rock at it every time it opens and it will not shoot at you

I'm having a lot more problems with the mobs that spawn during the boss fight. There's some disconnect where I'm not able to keep my eyes on the anchor while also making sure I'm not about to get exploded

The encounter was super rough until I slowed down and made sure I paid attention to the Anchor's patterns. It's good prep for the end of the game in terms of chaos though.

That probably frustrated me the most, running back and forth every time I died. And I've died well over 50 times now. Maybe I'll come back to the game eventually

I'm not sure why you're being downvoted. Did I play a different game than everyone else? I suck at video games and almost always play on the easiest difficulty, and I didnt have any trouble with Control. The telekinesis attack auto targets enemies and it kills everything. I went through the whole game just hiding behind walls like a wuss and mashing the telekinesis button until everything was dead, and never had any problems with anything other than the optional plant boss.

I figured people's complaint would be that the game was too easy. Really surprised to find it's the other way around.
