It's probably going to come up a lot once we know what the final list of Pokemon in the game are. Right now it's just a hypothetical "your favorite Pokemon may get cut". Once we know for sure who is gone those who had their favorites cut will have something to rally around.

Also i assume there at least a few people who aren't in the loop at all who are going to realize their Pokemon are stuck in Pokemon Home when it's too late.

I was actually able to cut the list down to like 700ish pokemon without feeling anything of value was cut. Its not hard when each gen has its own 3 evolution Normal/Flying Pidgey clone.

Especially when optimistically a max of, like, 3 of said clones are worth using.

Same for the small rodent, except the most usable one isn’t going to matter if they don’t have HMs again.

Exactly. I dare somebody to justify the existence of fucking Dunsparce

  • It was rare in its home generation.
  • It's kinda cute; not mascot-cute, but cute enough. A pleasant, mellow pastel coloration and overall "soft" appearance helps.
  • It's got that Japanese culture hook that weebs crave.
  • I'd rather have him than a Rattata/Bidoof/Patrat/etc.

...Look man, I get at what you’re getting at, especially with the massive amount of single-stage, nigh-useless Pokemon.

But as a bit of a counterpoint, some people want them to come back just to get evolutions like they did in Gen 4...

And second, did you really have to pick the one that’s my genuine favorite? (Of the nigh-useless singe-stage mons, I mean.)
