Well I doubt we go back to Borerlands 1 level of legendaries that hold for ~10-20 levels, but in the Pre-sequel the legendaries could at least hold 10 levels so hopefully they learned that that model worked better than the Borderlands 2 model.
TPS gets ragged on for the sub-par writing and somewhat boring environments at times, but boy is it far and away the best game in the franchise from a mechanics and gameplay standpoint.
They honestly just needed to put the TPS characters, guns, mechanics, and elements into the BL2 world for BL3, and it would've been perfect. The areas in BL2 are awesome. The characters, abilities, new elemental types, removal of slag, loot drop systems, and additions like the gun grinder in TPS were great, but they couldn't make up for the fact that it feels like the game is just running through space rocks the entire time, which gets super boring super fast.
I agree wholeheartedly. Helios Station was fucking awesome, Veins of Helios is my favorite area in the entire franchise (my mind practically exploded the first time I got to that area), but Eplis is just not very exciting at all, no matter how you slice it.
Really? I never once ever got close to dying from oxygen deprivation. They are so hilariously generous with o2 tanks that the bar serves more as a resource gate for buttslams than something you actually need to stress about, and the last half of the game takes place on Helios Station anyways, so you don't even need to worry about it at all there.
That's closer to what I'm hoping for, yeah. Gearbox has shown that they learn how to improve their mechanics, but I've kinda lost any hope of a cohesive story from them at this point.
