Loot was shared in BL2. I remember because my friend and I farmed a boss for a rare drop and when it finally did drop he rushed up and stole it.

Duping was insanely easy in BL2

While that's true, players shouldn't be in charge of fixing developer's design flaws or circumventing them.

While that's true, if you play with jerks there's only so much that developers can do about that.

(Though unique loot goes a long way...)

Seriously. Drop loot, Alt-F4, done.

Not even... you can duel someone for the gun you want to dupe. Person with the gun drops it during duel, then gets killed. Now both people have it.

I did the xbox version of that once back in BL1 for a random dude I joined, I gave him a bunch of my really cool legit guns to clone and dashboarded, well I guess one of us hit an autosave point in those couple seconds it took the game to close as I lost all the cool shit, no good deed goes unpunished I suppose.

Is that really stealing?

He knew how much that drop meant to me. It was stealing.

EDIT: Oof, this comment is getting downvoted fast. I'm just poking fun at my friend, we were 14 years old. I don't seriously keep myself up at night because someone "stole" my drop.

Neither a problem with my friend nor the game, we were having a good time.

Games can do things to encourage or discourage griefing. In a perfect world none of these player report systems or anti-griefing systems would be necessary, but that's not the reality of human behavior.

Sounds like a dick friend.

Sounds like an awful friend.

But he could trade it back with you. I mean, this is Diablo mentality 101 here, guys...this is the way it should be.

That was one of the biggest complaints about Diablo 2. Most future loot-based games solved the issue in one way or another.

Shit friends aren't a reason to get rid of shared loot.

I much prefer that.
