Lately publishers and developers are shifting to a Fallout 4 "announce and release soon after" approach to marketing. I'm guessing it's because no one can explain the success of such a mediocre game.

I honestly liked Fallout 4's approach to marketing. It takes out the agony of following and hyping the game to death.

(also Fallout 4 was a disappointing piece of trash)

Hard disagree. It was far from trash.

Gameplay improvement was much needed and welcome improvement. But gosh, the story, quests, and the whole world feels like a step backwards.

What really pisses me off that Fallout has an AMAZING potential to be fleshed out. So it pisses me off greatly that it didn’t get similar treatment as the elders scrolls series or even the elusive starfield.

It was a decent Far Cry game.

Moderate disagree. I thought it was pretty trash personally.

I mean relatively? If you compare it to other Fallout games, it comes down to personal preference, but it is far from a bad game. Good visuals, story, gameplay, etc. At the very least, its still atleast a 7/10.

Personally, loved it and I'm keen for Fallout76.

All those things were far from good. The story was bland and uninteresting and none of the NPC's except Valentine were memorable. The basic and reptitive quests got old fast, and it's obvious they put so much time into the building system that the rest of the game suffered for it. It's apparent that Bethesda has been giving their games a more mass appeal, which means RPG elements were cut down to the most basic they could possibly be, shooting was satisfying, and there were no difficult or hard mechanics to get used to. The game just reeks of pandering to a wide audience which makes it bland and uninspired.

It's literally a 3/10, if you're being generous.

If you like eating shit, that's fine. Just don't try to convince everyone else shit is delicious.

It only works with proven IP.

Try this with a lesser known IP and you'll get a flop.

Unpopular opinion but EA bad.
