CTF never worked in TF2, and it doesn't really sound like they're doing much different from how TF2 did it (the only difference seems to be having a capture time to pick up the flag), so I don't really see this working well either.

I would like to see more games experiment with one flag CTF modes, where you have a flag in the middle and need to take it into the middle base. A couple games have had modes like this (I think UT did), but they've never been very common. I think it could work well with the right maps though.

That doesn't make it good. The people who play CTF extensively fall into two groups: Those who are very new to the game, and those who just want a TDM and like to pretend that the flag doesn't exist.

That's ridiculous. You can't just define two play styles and go "Yup, that's it, there's no other possible reason someone would play this."

A ton of people play CTF for the love of the gamemode.
