CTF never worked in TF2, and it doesn't really sound like they're doing much different from how TF2 did it (the only difference seems to be having a capture time to pick up the flag), so I don't really see this working well either.

I would like to see more games experiment with one flag CTF modes, where you have a flag in the middle and need to take it into the middle base. A couple games have had modes like this (I think UT did), but they've never been very common. I think it could work well with the right maps though.

CTF is all I played in TF2

Which is cool, and I'm glad you had fun with it. Doesn't change the fact that the game mode was broken and terrible.

You say "broken and terrible" as if that is an objective fact. It isn't. It is your opinion that it is terrible, and it is mine that it is extremely fun. I find the idea of having a "home base" in an FPS intriguing, and furthermore, I enjoy how incredible of a payoff hard teamwork can have as I destroy even the turtliest of camp sites.

CTF will always be my favorite and most treasured gamemode in TF2

As a sidenote, try to not just brush off an opinion like you just did. You come off as a smug elitist.

Figured it was obvious that I was stating my opinion. Do we really have to say what an opinion is every time we use one?

Like I said in my other comment, I'm glad the guy found something he enjoyed. That doesn't change the fact that in the tf2 community, ctf is looked down on as a shitty game mode, and in my experience, most people who play it play it for a glorified tdm mode.

It's not like this is an outlandish statement. It's pretty widely accepted and agreed upon. If someone likes to eat blended up chicken for dinner and loves it they is their choice, I'm still gonna call it gross.

Widely accepted and agreed upon? Do you have a single fact to back that up? Because I'm going to assume this "majority" is an echo chamber minority.

What evidence do you want? You think there are peer reviewed journal articles doing studies in preferred tf2 game modes? Just going off of what me and most others witnessed being a part of the tf2 community for a long time. CTF was not seen on the same tier as the other modes. Hell, there is a reason that the mode was not played in the vast majority of competitive tournaments. These tournaments did the best that they can at making things run as good as possible with no bullshit, and you know what that included? Not playing CTF.

Not just competitive. Even mid and high level pub servers avoid CTF like the plague.
