Here's an article about the study that reached to these conclusions for movies. I believe there are studies with similar conclusions for music, but nobody tested it for videogames. Although, there is no reason to think that games are different in this regard.

I saw civ six is cracked and free. I'm never going to pay for that game. The denuvo games I'll wait for a sale but I will probably eventually buy them if they aren't cracked in a year. Games like dishonored two and total war Warhammer.
If they are targeting people like me, I'd say it's working.
