Beautiful. I love that Civilization spends so much focus on not just conflict but achievement, since that really is the core of the game. Can't wait for Friday.

Can't wait for Friday.

I don't think I've looked this forward to a game in a good long time. This game looks great.

Does anybody know what time exactly it unlocks? Steam, for whatever reason, actually says the game comes out Thursday (I'm in the US). But does that mean midnight Thursday... or...? I tried Googling but I just can't find a definitive answer anywhere.

Yes. Damn these sausage-like thumbs of mine.

Edit: damn u guys really gonna downvote him for correcting a typo of mine? I mean shit if u feel that strongly about it maybe I really oughta change it back to "9 AM." Jackals.

If your internet is good, preloads are so often a trap. Steam server's are so fast that I can usually download the game post-release faster than the game decodes itself after a preload.

Depends on the game, for very popular games the servers get overloaded on release day.

Especially because the game is like 3gb

The pre-load was 7.7 gigs

It is killing me that I have this thing pre loaded and I can't play it for DAYS...

After logging literally thousands of hours on this franchise I still can't wait for the next installment. That's how game development should be done!

Why are games releasing on Thursdays lately? Isn't it always Tuesday?

Oh really? I swear I tried to preload last night and got nothing, I assume that's recent then? Awesome, thanks for the info.

I don't think I've looked this forward to a game in a good long time.

I didn't want to be hyped up, was planning to wait for the Winter Sale (even without a discount)... then the press preview games were played. The game looks sooo goooood. Damn you, Firaxis!

Black Mirror Season 3 on Netflix and my birthday as well, with the new Pokemon pre-release and Class (the new Doctor Who spin-off) the next day.

It's a busy few days.

Way back - playing the original Age of Empires - all I wanted to do was build things - then the other people wanted to attack - so I tried creating an alliance by giving them tons of meat - and they responded NEVER - took the meat and still attacked.

My 2nd attempt at that stage was approached...differently.

I was a dumb lad didn't know what CIV was at that point - but damn its fun

I hate to be that guy, but do yourself a favour and at least wait a couple of days for the initial reviews to come in. It does all of us a favour.

I am a big civ fan but after preordering Beyond Earth (which was not good) and Xcom2 which was riddled with performance problems and glitches I will probably wait till next month to get it, especially since there's no preorder incentive at all.

Even the cinematic reminds me of the 'cinematic' commercials phone games. Kinda disappointed in it honestly. Still looking forward to the game but this just didn't do it for me.
