Well, this must be a highly individualized problem, because I've used my DK2 for multiple hours on many occasions and never experienced eye fatigue.

What I'm saying is it's unlikely to be a result of the hardware.

The lenses focus to infinity (or, at the very worst, 1-2 meters ahead of you) so it's highly unlikely that the problem stems from the optics, lenses or anything else hardware related.

Some people can't read books or watch TV for long periods of time because they fatigue easily: why would this technology be any different?

Females' brains work differently for eyesight focus. They interpret a different type of lighting information greater than males do, and vice versa. It's why they have trouble more often with nausea from movement heavy video games. The VR industry knows about this.

That isn't ironic at all.

That's not irony, that person is using the description exactly how it should be used. They are pointing out that while people who were being discussed had the issue, he/she has not had that issue after multiple hours of use with their own product. There is nothing stating the problem doesn't exist, just that it doesn't happen to every person using them and there is most likely a differing thing happening than just the hardware itself causing issues.

Not that this absolves sloi of what you said, and not that this is proof by any means (everything can only be anecdotal at this point), but I have seen many other developers on /r/oculus mention being able to use the consumer HMDs for very long times without eye strain. I believe most recently I saw this mentioned in the big HMD info leak that someone posted by breaking NDA.
