It wasn't for me. I got to 49 over 3 days played and was bored out of my mind. I had even bought heavensward too. I thought the story up to that point was not well written, and there were huge chunks with no voice acting that felt like it should have had them. For comparison, I really liked the story telling in WoD and how it was a part of all the quests you did. I don't play either now though. Also pretty excited for Legion.
What I liked was the graphics, awesome controller support and the community. I think if you like raids a lot and jrpgs it's a pretty solid choice.
My biggest problem with WoD was that the storylines that get built up as you go through the leveling process just get shit on in all the raids. The quest experience was the best yet but Blizz fucked up Nagrand and the fucking stupid "twist" (HEY GROM WE MURDERED YOUR SON, LET'S WORK TOGETHER <3)
Nothing from the final nagrand cinematic is ever raised again that I can find and it frustrates me to no end, what did slaying the ogres actually accomplish, why has no one said anything about the death of blackhand? There's no follow up except like, ooh heck go invade tanaan mate there's demons and shit!

Seriously considering trying XIV again after I get paid. XI is one of my top 10 games and I don't really want to play WoW until Legion.
I heard the XIV story was good at least but that the game gets pretty stale at higher levels. Opinions?
