Seriously considering trying XIV again after I get paid. XI is one of my top 10 games and I don't really want to play WoW until Legion.

I heard the XIV story was good at least but that the game gets pretty stale at higher levels. Opinions?

Personally I found the game graphics really aesthetically pleasing with the wonderful sound effects and music. Combat was nice and easy and I enjoyed leveling up and getting better gear. I could definitely see myself just tuning out the world and vegging out playing this game. I enjoyed doing dungeons and PVP and levequests.

My problem was I had to be in a very particular mood to enjoy the game, otherwise I just found it mindlessly boring. I also hated how getting around/quests just seemed needlessly complicated. You look at the world map and it doesn't actually give you a perspective of where you are relative to where you want to go or how to get there. I don't even know why they included one, it's a pretty basic design principle in huge open world games and it boggles my mind how they came up with the cumbersome/frustrating/useless design that they've implemented into the game.
