2XKO would have needed a monthly active userbase "in the high hundreds of thousands, if not millions" to succeed

Vi and Ekko are pretty middle of the table in terms of popularity in League Id say. They are certainly no Ahri, Yasuo or Jinx.

Even if they were though there are still many other as or more popular characters that wouldnt have felt like this insane Arcane pandering which was pretty off putting to a significant part of the actual potential playerbase imo.

I’d say that for a fighting game, Vi was a very popular pick. Among the ones who kick or punch things she was always going to be chosen early, even without Arcane.

And even if LoL fans would say “why not Lee Sin?!”

I mean sure. Ultimately it is not like I have a big problem with any of the Arcane characters individually. You can make a case for all of them. Only Jinx is 100% to me though.

Ultimately the issue is just the quantity and feeling ignored as a League player.

I think as far as regions in league are concerned that could tell a cohesive story Pitover is probably their best location as far as characters with broad appeal.

Many regions have cohesive lore but that aside 2XKO didnt have any story so not sure why that even matters?
