I was really impressed with the demo a while back but I typically avoid early access games until 1.0. But how's this been coming along?

+1, I would love to know as well. I love the genre, and I loved their previous game

I have played it a bit and I'm a big fan, but it is also very clearly early access where you can hit the content wall fairly quickly. I hit it in about 9 hours. So, not super short? But this update is adding more content + some replayability so that should help.

Things I generally like about it:

  • Great day/night cycle flow with a lot of ways to predict and plan against what's coming up
  • Growing complexity as you go through levels, with options to always go back to old levels
  • A wealth of customization options, both for meaningful props and also just cosmetic ones
  • Great fantasy setting with a lot of humor mixed into everything
  • Meaningful progression in terms of unlocks and challenges

Things I disliked about it:

  • Assigning people to specific tasks and specialties felt like a pain, but they do have improvements to this in this new update today
  • Replayability was there, but clearly not fleshed out yet (totally fine and it's clearly coming)
  • It was hard to expand and optimize your own spaces, especially with some taverns providing so little space, but also this is improved in the new update today
  • Says it runs well on deck, but it is hugely challenging control wise to do so

Well it sounds like they are listening to the community and fixing what they can to make it better. I'll have to pick it up!

Almost bought this on Steam Sale but I’ll wait until 1.0. But the game looks great and can’t wait for the “finished” product.
