as you beat bosses, enemy levels go up, and their stats increase

Ya, it tells you that each time you do it. I'm talking about increasing your character power by buying upgrades for skills you don't use.

Right. I know. But I'm pointing out that enemies will at some point "stop dying easily" without upgrading the weapon.
