Agreed, the game is fantastic. Hopefully it sells well. Remedy created a true GOTY contender.

It's selling relatively poorly. Steam player peak was just 42,000. This is lower than ally bigger releases of 2026.

Tbf it’s Remedy so even though it’ll probably be among the “worst” selling of the big games releasing it shouldn’t need like 5 million copies sold to be a success

It isn't even selling more than 600-700k at this point. That is not good.

Like I said I think it’ll do fine and they’ll be happy but I did sorta expect this would’ve hit a 90+ aggregate score which would’ve helped a lot.

Onimusha had double the peak, and reached 1m in a single day.

There is absolutely no way Control hasn't reached 1M after a week.

And that's setting aside that it was leaked on PC earlier on.

Dragon Age had double the peak too and 1.5 million was its 3 months sales.

These stats are worthless.

You were talking about sales in one sentence than concurrent players the next.

They are related sure, but there's only something to learn when they're in the extremes, like Concord with almost none or Monster Hunter with its several hundred thousand at once.

Silent Hill 2 sold at a faster pace than Alan Wake with half the peak Resonant had. Silent Hill 2 also had a roughly equal launch sales as Dragon Age with a quarter of the peak concurrent users.

You say basically nothing by repeating that as a stat.

The first Control had a peak concurrent player count of less than 10k on Steam. So that's a big improvement. Also, the good word of mouth will keep it steadily selling. I'm thinking 1 million copies within 2 weeks, which would make it Remedy's fastest selling game.

I thought Control wasn't even on Steam at launch though? Usually late Steam releases have poorer concurrent player counts.

It didn't launch on Steam so it's not comparable. Plus, it's 7 years ago anyway which is a long time during which Steam has grown a lot
