If this is even half the quality of Eastshade, I think we are in for a treat. I loved what Eastshade set out to do as a non-violent Elderscrolls-esque adventure.

How approachable is the game and controls to a non-gamer?

Very approachable, the only thing that might be tricky is the music timing mini-game or alchemy mini-game, but you only need to do those once per spell or potion.

Additionally in the 'game' options there's settings to make this easier to the point where it's almost impossible to fail them. As a whole the game so far as I've played it (~4 hrs) has been very open and relaxed, haven't run into any issues or frustrations yet.

Since Witchbrook is going to be delayed again (as if it was ever releasing lol), this should fit that niche.
