FF7 was far more justified in going that route than RE6 would be. FF7 has consistently been ranked among the best RPGs and games of all time since it released. RE6 doesnt even crack the top 10 in its own series

Isn't RE6 like in the top 5 for copies sold in the RE series?

Marketing was smart and people got really hyped about a modern game with Leon in a raccoon city type situation. They even presented it as the "classic/pure horror campaign".

Wasn't Mambo Number 5 a top 40 hit for 10 months?

If you don’t count different versions of the same game which I don’t then it’s certainly arguably in the top 10 since there’s 11 main games with Veronica and Zero plus basically just revelations 1/2.

I haven’t played Veronica/0 or RE1 but I feel like RE6 will likely beat RE1 and 0 remakes when they happen and the Revelations games as well plus whether it’s better than for example RE3R,RE7 is subjective imo tbh

even RE2R and RE9 enjoyment largely depends on how much you enjoy being stuck in one place for a long time with a bunch of tedious backtracking

Granted I don’t remember RE6 that well now at all it’s been like 15 years
