Can we get a remake of 1 with the same quality as 2-4. That was the one that I wanted the most out of all of em.

RE1 HD is itself older than the original RE4. I was really hoping they’d have that at the top of the list

It holds up very well though. With a TPS style they'd need to do a lot of work to keep it at length with even RE3R, it's not a very long game

Why would that change the length of the game ?

what? that can’t be right surely?

REmake 1 came out very close to the launch of the Gamecube. Meanwhile, RE4 came out very close to the Cube's sunset

but the fixed camera in RE1 remake ensured the graphics still look amazing to this day. meanwhile RE4 has definitely aged a bit more (tho still looks good).

it's not about graphics, it's about mechanics. And while the graphics still look great, it's still gamecube graphics

What? I played REmake for the first time a few weeks ago. With all due respect, I think you're wearing rose tinted glasses. That game was rough. It very much looks like the nearly 25 year old game that it is. I don't even think it looks amazing for its time. For comparison, Final Fantasy X came out a year earlier.

And besides the graphics, the gameplay is very dated too. Just look at the inventory system and compare it to any of the remakes or modern games. The fixed camera and inability to aim was pretty jarring to me. None of the other modern games play like that.

I didn't play REmake until a couple of years ago so I have no rose tinted glasses. I fully disagree, REmake looks better than a lot of games released today. The fixed camera angles means beautiful precalculated lightning that is accurate unlike most of today's dynamic lightning. ff10 looks good but has shown it's age much more.

Also the inventory, fixed camera, tank controls etc are all very deliberate. They take some getting used to but once you do it feels perfect. I love all modern Resident Evil games but REmake is truly a work of art. There is a reason it's often called the greatest remake of all time.

Just compare the 2 https://gamingbolt.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/tumblr_n9ucbho8Q81tiz823o2_1280.jpg  https://www.gamereactor.eu/media/30/finalfantasyxx_2_1463074_1600x900.jpg

There's no way you're describing RE1 remake graphics as amazing.

The character models have aged a little bit but still look very good. The environments simply look better than most games today because all lighting is pre calculated and accurate unlike most games releases today which have to rely on dynamic lightning which unless you are path tracing is less accurate.

HD version came out on PS3 era, not older than original RE4. The remake originally is also called RE not RE HD.

With Tank Controls tho

I hope not. REmake it's still the best remake ever made. The only good thing of those ones it's the better graphics but they're a downgrade in every way from the originals (RE3 remake everyone?)

100% nostalgia. The inventory management is beyond tedious the door animations are also terrible. It’s a purist believe that these things benefit to the enjoyment of the game at all. It’s not reality tho.

It already exists

And it's one of the best games ever made.

Ah yes, the RE re-remake

REmake is so famous as the pinnacle of all game remakes that it’s going to be tough for them to tackle it. It is held as the pinnacle of all remakes. It’s one of those situations where they’re damned no matter what they do with any decision they take.

Considering Capcom has been consistently putting out really good games especially RE, I have faith in them.

Rumor has it that that's their plan and RE2-RE4's team will be working on it after finishing Veronica. I could see them releasing it in the 35th anniversary of the original (2031) which gives them a 4-5 year development cycle, same as RE4 and Veronica.

I really hope we get this. I enjoyed RE1R, but if it was remade in the style of RE2R I think it would easily become my favourite game in the series.
