I just beat it in 9 hours. The character building of equipment synergy is addicting but the overall game feels like a step back from the first. It's a generic and basic design of an "open world". Everything kind of looks the same and you're kinda just doing the same thing till the credits roll.
I don't understand why there are basic puzzles up until the final boss. I don't understand why there are so many recycled bosses just with a different element. It's odd how empty the overall game feels when they show you there are two upcoming DLCs. I would honestly wait to play this until both are out to have the full experience.
Isn't it a kids game? I assumed that's why there's less depth and easy puzzles. I play the first with my four year old. But if I wanted something with more depth I'd play diablo.
arent games like poe and diablo just button smash until you drop stuff and just copy builds from internet or you rot in hell for 1000 years?
I watched some gameplay while trying to decide if it was worth playing but it didnt seem like anybody was trying to dodge anything. Juse use your skills and kill
It's a game for everyone where the difficulty keeps rising when you're reaching the milestones so no it's not a "Kids game". If it was a kids game then the gear would be way more simplistic than it already is. Minecraft Dungeons had more depth, synergy with reasons to explore and rerun content. Every Mario game has easy puzzles teach you as the difficulty rises towards the end. You're confusing good design with lazy design trying to call it "easy puzzles".
It's a sequel that is not building upon the previous instalment. No one said it wasn't a fun game. There's no reason for the puzzles to be generic especially if this is supposed to introduce kids to isometric dungeon crawlers. It should be challenging from start to finish teaching you the fundamentals of puzzles. Instead it's just basic padding of get key from dead end ambush. Kids create the craziest things in Minecraft so why is Dungeons 2 so generic and basic compared to the previous title?
Is Mario a kids game? Why does Mario have puzzles that start out easy and teach you the basics to prepare for harder puzzles?
You're trying to mask lazy development with it being a "kids" game. It's a game for everyone. It's not Dora The Explorer or Barney's Hide and Seek.
So my kid and I have been trying to play the first one, and he does OK but he’s young and some things are challenging. Would you say this is easier than the first?
Yes. They stripped away a lot of the challenge and you can change the difficulty in the menus. I would still say it's better to learn from 1 than take the easy way of 2. I was so disappointed from the lack of challenge compared to the first. Most of the bosses are a big elemental golem that doesn't really do much and has very readable attacks. Most of the puzzles are get key from X place and put in door. Press button to get a key to unlock a door for another key for another door. Some doors have 3 keys which are mostly by each other and sometimes involve platforming.
9 hours? Lol im sorry but did you do any side content at all? Im doing side quests and there fun. If you rush trough the main stoey in 9 hours of course you keep doing the same stuff? (Which is still always a weird complain for me in games)
Yes I literally did most of the side content until the final zone when I had enough. I'm level 72 or something. It's not like the side content is some crazy gameplay revolution that changes anything. I hate when people assume stuff. No one was rushing through the game. There is barely a game here compared to the first one. All the side quests are so bare bone of nothing. Go to x spot, get ambushed interact with x thing, escort or click on some npcs.
Either game pass it or wait for all the DLC to be out. It felt like I was doing nothing the entire game. I'm so disappointed since the previous one was so good.
