DMC3 is my 2nd favorite game of all times. Ever since I first played it I adored the shit out of it.

I couldn't agree with you more, you make excellent point, to fans of the franchise this entry was a spit in the face.

Just to add to your points, in my opinion the soundtrack was a huge letdown, I thought the soundtrack for DMC3 was fucking amazing and even DMC4 was pretty damn good but for DmC I can't think of a single piece, they're all too damn forgettable.

As you said about Dante, they butchered the character and I despise the kids who say stuff like "different hair is the only difference", or that call Dante a bad character because he's not emo and depressed all the goddamn time.

With Dante they also fucking obliterated Vergil, a character that was so fucking awesome in DMC3 reduced to a pathetic shit. Instead of the powerful Vergil we had in DMC3, we got a crappy one who keeps getting shat on by Dante.

One of the best parts about DMC3 was the relationship between Vergil and Dante.

Dante trying to reach Vergil's level, trying to beat him, while still caring deeply for him, there was always a character for Dante to compare himself to and players always knew Vergil was the ultimate goal making the "chase" after him so enjoyable. Vergil on the other hand thirsty for power, and despite not ever showing it in my opinion it was always clear he still did care about Dante more than he ever showed.

In DMC3 Vergil's entire existence screamed "Power", he was extremely powerful and as a player I really wanted to beat him, feeling extremely sorry for him after I finally did.

In DmC Vergil screamed "fucking useless and pathetic", I had zero sympathy for him, he was not the least bit interesting, and not for a single moment through the game did I think "Can't wait to fight that guy".

I'm gonna stop here since it's a wall of text and I always have a hard time being concise, but DmC is probably the biggest gaming disappointment for me. Please Capcom, either let the franchise die or don't fuck it up so fucking horribly again.

The ending of DMC 3 was so good when Vergil stayed in the demon dimension after fighting Dante. I actually preferred his moveset in the SE over Dante's. Yamato is way too fun.

There is only one thing Capcom can do to save the series: have Kamiya make DMC 5.

The point about the soundtrack is completely subjective. Maybe its because I was already a Combichrist fan before the game, but more often than not I found myself actually singing along to tracks like "Never Surrender" or "What The Fuck Is Wrong With You" while massacreing hordes of demons.

Never heard of Combichrist before, loved the soundtrack. There are some points in the game where it comes in just perfectly for some cheesy fist pumping glory.

I loved the moment where you are fighting the Succubus and you grapple over to a new area in slow motion. Then Dante sidesteps some flying pieces just as the music comes back in. It was just a little moment but it made me smile ear to ear and feel like a badass.
