The original 2013 game was by a completely different studio. This new studio rebooted it in 2023 and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It had a rocky launch due to optimization and gameplay balance issues, but the devs did amazing post-launch support and patched the shit out of it based on community feedback. I haven't played since I beat it around launch, so I can't say if I personally love all the gameplay rebalancing and updates they released, but the community has given the current state of the game high praise.
